Strageties for a good website:
Good content: Well written documentation that is easily understood, that tells the visitor what is up with your site.
Good images: Quick loading, quality images, no dark or out of focus images. Some flash graphics but not over done. It can load slow or distract the visitor. You want a professional website not a three ring circus.
Good color scheme: Background colors that are not hard on the eyes, fonts colors that standout from the background.
Good layout: An ascetical pleasing layout. Grouping content imaginatively, Don't just plop it on your page. "Just say no to plop and go"
